The End of the Petitioner Mentality: Communication at Eye Level
For a long time, an implicit hierarchy prevailed in recruiting. But Gen Z does not see itself as a petitioner, but as an equal partner. An approach must therefore be direct, respectful, and appreciative. Anyone starting with long introductions or formal phrases will be swiped away. The attention span is short and trained for selection. The key to success lies in individual profile reference. Show that you have engaged with the person by addressing details such as their field of study or volunteer work. A copy-paste message signals disinterest. Instead, you should immediately clarify what it is about and why it is relevant for the recipient. This attitude of appreciation massively increases the response rate.
