The Digital Expert's Paradox: Client Excellence, Internal Wasteland

IT and system houses are the architects of their clients' digital future. They implement complex ERP systems, migrate infrastructures to the cloud, and develop AI-supported solutions for process optimization. But a look behind the facade of technological competence often reveals a surprising picture. Their own sales departments frequently operate on traditional models: relying on established customer relationships, reacting to incoming tenders, and primarily maintaining contacts on demand. This reactive approach, which worked well in the past, is hitting its limits in a saturated and rapidly changing market. The manual search for new potential customers is time-consuming, the qualification of prospects is often left to chance, and the identification of actual buying signals is like fumbling in the dark. The real irony is that the tools to solve these problems – data-driven analysis, automation, and AI – are precisely the ones they recommend to their customers daily. This discrepancy between external consulting and internal reality is more than just a cosmetic flaw; it is a strategic vulnerability. It prevents scalability, ties up highly qualified sales staff with repetitive tasks, and makes corporate success heavily dependent on individuals and fortunate circumstances. The greatest digital challenge thus lies not in project business, but in the transformation of the company's own sales core.

In Step With Others: The Quest For Digital Sovereignty In AI And Sales

Within the boardrooms from Hamburg to Munich, a peculiar ambivalence prevails.
