B2B Sales in 2026: Our Theses on the Agentic Shift and on a New Era of Sales

The Great Bifurcation: From Super-Rep to Agent-to-Agent Commerce

The normal distribution of sales talent has collapsed. The middle of the market effectively no longer exists. In the first five theses of our analysis, we see the death of the classic Account Executive who relies on standard playbooks. In their place rises the Super-Rep: a strategic orchestrator who no longer writes emails themselves but directs a fleet of digital agents. A single human thus manages the pipeline volume of what used to be a ten-person team. Yet perhaps the most radical change is Agent-to-Agent (A2A) Commerce. We have left the stage where humans operate machines. Today, buying bots negotiate autonomously with selling bots over pricing tables and compliance standards—in milliseconds and without human intervention. Parallel to this, the manual CRM is dying. Data is no longer typed in but passively observed and synthesized by an "Invisible Operating System." This also forces the end of the "Seat Economy": software is no longer paid for per user, but based on verified outcomes, as AI efficiency renders the old licensing model absurd. Paradoxically, the physical world gains value: in an age of digital abundance, the face-to-face meeting becomes the ultimate "offline moat" and proof of trust.
